Hectool marks a revolutionary step in the industrial sector as the first marketplace specifically designed for CNC machines and tools, hosted on Shopify Plus.
The challenge
The challenge lay in creating a platform that brings suppliers and customers together, using the latest technologies. This required seamless integration of various components such as a supplier portal, an advanced AI assistant and a robust eCommerce infrastructure, all within the Shopify Plus ecosystem.
Our Approach
Our approach included a customer journey and visualization in Figma of the intended UX/UI designs. Developing an advanced vendor portal using Nuxt.js and JAVA, among others, enabling a smooth experience for vendors to list and manage their products. We leveraged the power of Shopify Plus to provide a seamless shopping experience, fully automated with Shopify Flow and built with Shopify Native. We also created an AI assistant, integrated with Shopify's API and deeply trained in CNC editing, to give users quick access to essential product details, compatibility, pricing and availability. This AI assistant provides compatibility advice which simplifies decision making and consulting.

Shopify Plus, AI & JAVA
Based on Shopify Plus, we developed a Multitenant platform with extensive vendor capabilities. To efficiently read huge article files we developed an AI assistant that automatically categorizes and generates texts. For customers we developed an AI sales assistant that searches the databases in a very user-friendly way, shows relevant results and answers (technical) customer questions adequately. The AI engine is based on Hector-CX, a product of Atlantis Digital based on their own LLM.
